I should have sent this message when I received the record, but I was busy and I was not impressed by the quality of the record in relation to the grading given, so I stuck my head in the sands and wrote it off as a bad buy. I am prompted to send now as I’m getting reminders from Discogs to rate the item/sale.

The sleeve and cover is totally NM. However the record itself has hairline surface scratches all over it, and it skips right near the end of the last track on side 1 – Last train to Transcentral. I cannot see how the record can be classed as NM, it’s not even VG+ in my book.

I expect it’s an oversight – you may have confused it with another record, or it’s got swapped out with another copy at some point, but it’s VG at best.

I’m happy I have the record as it’s one of my favourite LPs, but the grading is way off, it’s just not accurately described. It sounds great aside from the one skip – the surface scratches are not an issue audibly, but the item is not as described IMHO.

I thought I should let you know where I am at! I don’t want to give anyone a bad rating, but I am not happy to rate this sale due to the condition vs the stated condition (and the subsequent price I paid).

We’ve sent the link to our PayPal rep, Clive for reference.

There are no scratches and we can’t hear it skip on ‘A5-The-KLF-Last-Train-To-Trancentral-LP-Mix’.

The recordings & images were taken just after the sale.

The record was not swapped at all, we only had one copy of this for sale.

We use the following equipment to record our audio:

Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP Professional Direct Drive Manual Turntable
Ortofon Concorde Mix MKII Cartridge
Pioneer DJM-250 ML II Mixer
Tascam SS-R100 Solid State Recorder

All recordings are wav files 16bit 44.1khz files
All images are taken with an iPhone 15 Pro

Could you check your stylus and or use another deck to test it on in case it’s an issue with the stylus/cartridge/tonearm or check if there is a lift lever to lift the tonearm and that it has been fully seated in it’s down position in case as this can cause cueing issues.
